Aneela Qureshi
Aneela is half Persian and half Punjabi and was born and raised in the UK. She is a versatile actress with a particular strength in comedic timing. She speaks several languages and can perform a plethora of accents. She can portray Caucasian/European/American, Middle Eastern, Indian and Hispanic roles. Her passion is to create and perform strong female roles with an edge, depth and dramatic content as well as quirky comedic types. She has won diversity scholarships for her acting.
Aneela is an honorary member of the BRAID theatre in Los Angeles, where she has played many thought provoking roles as female characters of substance. Some of her other acting credits on stage include: ‘Kate’ in TAMING OF THE SHREW. ‘Juliet’, in ROMEO AND JULIET, ‘Elvira’, in
BLITHE’S SPIRIT, ‘Dora’ in NIGHT MUST FALL, ‘Jean McCormack’ in PLAZA SUITE, ‘Karen Daniels’ in REHEARSAL FOR MURDER, ‘Toinette’ in FLEA IN HER EAR’ and ‘Hermance Marjavel’ in THE THREESOME. Some of her main film and TV credits include; ‘The Bombing Of PanAm 103’,‘NCIS LA’, ‘INDIA SWEETS AND SPICES’, ‘STEVE HARVEY SHOW’, ‘FORTUNE DEFIES DEATH’, ‘ INTERCEPT.’
In her latest short film, Aneela portrays the role of Maya, a strong woman of substance, who we see transition through the process of grief, due to loss of her son. “This was the deepest and most challenging role in my acting career so far. Working with such an amazing team, allowed me the emotional freedom to bring my everything.”
